Tibor – efficiency seeker
An efficient warrior has a bigger chance to prevail. So naturally since my childhood I am study any system, which can make me more efficient…
It’s unbelievable how much you can increase your performance by the feeling in your body.
You can control you tension with your mind. You can use bodywave (kinetic energy of your body). This energy is underutilised despite it’s massive influence.Your movement could be smoother & more precise.
With feeling, control of tension, bodywave, or how to generate the power with least effort possible works Russian Systema (Martial Arts). I am certified Systema instructor by Vladimir Vasiliev.
Systema strengthening could shows a new dimension of dynamic exercise so important for a warrior.
It also teaches how breathing can be helpful to cope with stress & pain.
As a Sifu of Wing Chun Kung Fu I’ve studied the Chinese method of efficiency & vitality known as Qi-gong..
When I used to be a member of Slovakian National team of Kick-boxing & Karate, I found the limits of my body: especially with tension but also the necessary recovery time. I felt that if I did not recover properly I could get injured, inflammation, cramp or other problems.
I found that massage was method which relaxed me, allowed me training more, get rid of pain, made me more supple, improve my recovery – positives comes with cascade effect. So, I studied at the Academy of Education in ‘Milosrdnych Bratov’ hospital Bratislava (Slovakia), where I certified as a sports massage therapist. When I came to England I became a member of Complementary Therapists Association (it including Insurance of Professional Liability).
Other source of efficiency is dance. Dancer should be smooth, relax an elegant. I can highly recommend any dance to increase efficiency of movements.
Real street situations
I’ve been working as a bouncer and a doorman for many years. I used to work for 5 years in Bratislava in the club ‘Rodeo’. It was a bit rough time when city was controlled by ‘mafia groups’, when the legal system didn’t really work.
Then after many years (2009) I come back to the job as a doorman in Kent (UK).
The door job has a big influence to my Systema. Traditional Systema is for soldiers and special forces, which don’t need to really care about damage or injury of an opponent. However in civilian world is important to cope with conflict according to low – minimise damage of opponent. So civilian Tibor’s Systema focus a bit more to control without damage, for conflict management etc.
As a professional self-defense instructor, I am glad to have a big library of real experience which I can share with my students. This job also keep me on the ground – I am not teaching utopistic solutions, the most of the stuff I am teaching, I test in real conflicts, so no bullshido.. 😉
